Two minutes, only once. After that, Nodalt opens like any other app.
Why does macOS show a warning?
Nodalt is a private beta. Apple validates apps (“notarization”) for their public release, and Nodalt will be validated then. Until that point, macOS shows ““Nodalt” Not Opened” for any app downloaded from a browser that Apple hasn’t checked yet. It isn’t a virus: the app comes from nodalt.visualt.fr, its AI runs on your Mac and nothing leaves it without you. You confirm once, never again.
Method 1 · Without Terminalrecommended
In this window, drag Nodalt onto the Applications folder.
Open Applications and double-click Nodalt. macOS shows ““Nodalt” Not Opened”: click Done (not “Move to Trash”).
At the very bottom, Security section: ““Nodalt” was blocked…”. Click Open Anyway, enter your Mac password (or Touch ID), then Open. Done.
On macOS 14 Sonoma, shorter: Control-click (right-click) Nodalt › Open › Open.
Method 2 · With Terminaloptional, no warning
Why it works: what Terminal downloads isn’t flagged by macOS, so Nodalt opens with no warning. The line downloads the official beta from nodalt.visualt.fr, checks its fingerprint (SHA-256: nothing is installed if the file was altered), puts Nodalt in Applications and opens it. Nodalt opens.You can then eject the “Nodalt” disk image and delete the downloaded file.
What about a double-click that runs Terminal for you? We tried: an installer file you double-click (.command) is blocked by macOS exactly like the app, as long as the beta isn’t validated by Apple. Copy-paste is the only way to skip the warning. At the public release, all of this goes away: Nodalt will open directly.
First launch
Enter your email: you receive a 6-digit code. It only works once and expires: it isn’t a password. The beta is free for 2 months from activation.
You stay signed in. The Feedback button and the forum (Help › Nodalt Forum) use your account without asking again.
